Did someone hack your PHP files ? Is that possible ? Oooh yes. It happens to everybody and the difference between "everybody" is how often it happens. And code injection is one type of attack, I won't refer to cases that someone changed the homepage and you can just restore the last backup.
So, what can you do if you find out that someone injected code into your PHP files ?

Optimize your webpages
I think that Manuel Lemos does not need a lot of references. Every PHP developer has heard his name. A few days ago he wrote a very useful article for webpage optimization and since I have the time now I must mention it.

Perl and Tidy
I am looking for a utility like Tidy written in Perl or at least in PHP. If not something like Tidy then at least an HTML validator.
All I want is this: using cron read the POP3 account and then check if the e-mails written in HTML are valid. With Tidy I could "clean" the invalid e-mails or with something similar with Tidy I could be aware which e-mails are invalid and check them manually.
I have found the following Perl validators but I don't know Perl and I think that they are not what I am looking for.
http://www.crossmyt.com/hc/htmlchek/htmlchek.html
http://www.htmlhelp.com/tools/validator/source.html.en
http://www.cpan.org/modules/by-authors/id/S/SA/SAIT/HTML-Validator-0.04.readme
http://validator.w3.org/source/
http://packages.debian.org/unstable/web/wdg-html-validator.html
Can somebody help me?
