GPSR code for ns-2

I gave many hours trying to identify what was wrong with their instructions. And after I found crossing informations - even in Chinese - I did a good brain "compilation", many tests, googling and found the solution. It is my obligation to present what I found because as I saw in ns-2 mailing lists many people wanted to simulate GPSR. It is true that they didn't google and wanted to get the solution from the others ready-made. But on the other hand I didn't like the fact that there is nothing concrete.

Optimize your webpages

I think that Manuel Lemos does not need a lot of references. Every PHP developer has heard his name. A few days ago he wrote a very useful article for webpage optimization and since I have the time now I must mention it.

Disappointed with ns-2

I am writing a survey for some common routing protocols, specifically the AODV, DSDV, DSR, TORA, GPSR, OLSR. For the simulations I chose ns-2 (latest version 2.31) mostly because it can be used in Linux although it is not installed from a deb/rpm file. I made some simulations and I wrote some shell and awk scripts for extracting data for statistics.

Although I have spent much time for scripting , I am not disappointed with this. My disappointment comes from the lack of help from the developers and expert users. I and everybody else who tried to make a simulation using TORA protocol had almost the same problem. But as it is seen in the ns-2 mailing lists when all these people sent an e-mail asking for help nobody answered. Even the sample scenarios for TORA do not work. The problem most people have is this:

...
"$ns node"
("for" body line 2)
invoked from within
"for {set i 0} {$i < $val(nn) } { incr i } { set node_($i) [$ns node] }" (file "10nodes_traffic50_stable.tcl" line 59)

....

I can say that maybe some settings are missing but the same happens with the samples!

The programming language of ns-2 is Tcl and C. Tcl is a little difficult, at least for me, language although I made some modifications to some Tcl programs. If I had more time I would learn Tcl but I don't. I tried to find some older versions of ns-2 like 2.26 but the latest I found is 2.29.

I hope that ns-3 will solve these problems. When I finish my work I will upload all my scripts because they are proven to be very useful.

Working with ns-2

I must write a paper with the pros and cons of some popular routing protocols. I have to use a simulator and I decided to use ns-2. I found some many sites which can help me because it is my first time with ns-2.

Perl and Tidy

I am looking for a utility like Tidy written in Perl or at least in PHP. If not something like Tidy then at least an HTML validator.
All I want is this: using cron read the POP3 account and then check if the e-mails written in HTML are valid. With Tidy I could "clean" the invalid e-mails or with something similar with Tidy I could be aware which e-mails are invalid and check them manually.

I have found the following Perl validators but I don't know Perl and I think that they are not what I am looking for.

http://www.crossmyt.com/hc/htmlchek/htmlchek.html
http://www.htmlhelp.com/tools/validator/source.html.en
http://www.cpan.org/modules/by-authors/id/S/SA/SAIT/HTML-Validator-0.04.readme
http://validator.w3.org/source/
http://packages.debian.org/unstable/web/wdg-html-validator.html

Can somebody help me?

Joomla Module What's New with Statistics ver.05.

At last I found some free time to continue my Joomla Module!

The new version (0.5) of What's New is a little different. First of all it is renamed to What's New with Statistics. I have developed two more modules, the What's New with Links and the What's New with Tabs. I will publish them soon but the component will take some time. Maybe it won't be needed, what do you say?

The What's New with Tabs will use the AJAX Tab Content Script from DynamicDrive and will be like the What's New with Links.

Anyway, What's New with Statistics ver.05 has three more options:
1) You can use the Bookmarks extension. It checks if the Bookmarks table exists so there is no problem if you make any wrong choice.
2) You can hide the zero results.
3) You can show a text in case there is nothing new.

I want to add a file for translation but I don't think it is needed.

You can download it from here. The server who hosts http://velonis.gr has a problem so I use my blog.

Enjoy it!
